Chief Financial Officer
Sam Backenroth is an accomplished executive with nearly 20 years of experience as a senior financial and strategic leader, including 13 years as a public company Chief Financial Officer, with a strong track record of creating shareholder value. He has served in leadership roles across both public and private life science companies, with a focus on building durable financial and operating foundations for growth. His experience includes supporting companies as they prepare for commercialization, scale operations, and operate effectively as public companies.
Since transitioning from investment banking to industry in 2010, Sam has co-founded or served as a founding employee and CFO of multiple life sciences companies across ophthalmology, neurology, immunology, and oncology. He has brought companies and assets to the public markets and supported their evolution as public enterprises, collectively growing enterprise valuations to more than $700 million and raising over $200 million from institutional investors. Earlier in his career, Sam worked as an investment banker advising companies on financing and strategic transactions. He holds a BS in Finance from Touro College in New York.
